Right, you lot get to hear it first.
My new book, Bloody Mary of Arranmore, is officially finished and about to go live on Amazon. I’ll make the big public announcement soon, but I wanted you — my blog readers, the ones who’ve endured my ramblings, drafts, and questionable jokes — to have the early word.
This book carries pieces of Arranmore Island, Ireland, and Beaver Island, Michigan, along with the old stories that refuse to stay quiet. If you’ve followed my writing here, you’ll recognize the heart of it.
A Short Teaser
Here’s a tiny taste — no spoilers, just atmosphere:
“Some stories don’t wait to be invited. They slip in through the cracks, carried on the wind from places you thought you’d left behind. And when they arrive, they bring the voices of the ones who walked before you — the ones who never really left at all.”
Behind the Scenes
This book has been a journey — over twenty‑five years in the making. Some days the writing came easy; other days it felt like wrestling a ghost who refused to sit still. I spent more time than I care to admit arguing with page numbers, fixing stubborn formatting, and muttering at my computer like it was a living thing.
But through all of it, the story kept pulling me forward — the islands, the people, the history, the echoes of family and place. It’s the kind of tale that insisted on being told, and I’m grateful I finally listened.
The book won’t be available on Amazon until March 1st, but for now, consider this your early pint at the bar before the crowd arrives.
Sláinte — and thank you for being here.
P.S.
When launch day arrives, if you feel like sharing the announcement with friends, family, or anyone who loves a good story, I’d be grateful. Word of mouth is how these books find their way home.
